- ACCESS TO DAM
a. The dam will be fenced off and posted, with security personnel responsible for initial signing in. Please sign in at Figueiredo’s workshop. Ask the guard to let you in and out. Entrance and exit is ONLY through the gate that the guard will unlock. DO NOT USE ANY BACK FARM ROADS TO ACCESS THE DAM. b. ONLY Swazibass members in good standing with the Club and signed-in guests, and waterfront property owners of Tubungu Estate may have the use of the dam. Activities on the dam will be restricted to shore and boat angling, and canoeing. Boat angling is permitted, and the use of internal combustion engines is restricted to idle speed only. The use of personal water craft (jet-ski, etc) is prohibited. Normal Club boating and safety regulations apply, including life jackets when the main motor is in use. c.Swazibass members are required to carry their current membership cards when signing in, and while visiting the Dam. Failure to do so will result in members being asked to leave the premises. d.Day Visitor permits will be available from the Owner ONLY, and will be issued at his discretion. Visitors are to carry these cards with them.
- FISHING REGULATIONS
Both boat and bank angling is permitted, but visitors must park in the designated area. Vehicles are not permitted to drive around the dam. Boats may only be launched in the designated area. a. Bass angling. 1) All bass are to be returned to the water as soon as possible after being landed. Keep nets and stringers are prohibited. 2) Hooked bass are to be landed as quickly as possible, to avoid stressing the fish too much. 3) Where possible, anglers are encouraged to used barbless hooks. 4) Fish will only be allowed to be taken out of the water when events dictated by the Club or the Owner, indicate so. In this event, fish will be translocated to other venues by the Club. b. Other species. Species other than bass may be fished for, and may be taken from the dam by the angler. The following limits apply: 1) Bream / Tilapia species – limit of 5 fish per angler per day (minimum size – 150mm) 2) Catfish – limit of 2 per angler per day (minimum size – 300mm). c. Netting is strictly forbidden. Any nets found in the dam by anglers are to be removed, the fish returned to the water, and the nets are to be given to Mickey Figueiredo for destruction.
- GENERAL
a. Cooking fires are permitted but only in the fire pits provided. All fires are to be extinguished before leaving the dam. b. All refuse is to be removed by visitors to the dam. This applies especially to cans, Styrofoam containers, discarded line and tackle packets. c. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a reprimand. Continued disregard for the rules will result in the person/s concerned being barred from the dam. d. Swazibass members and waterfront residents are authorized to ask visitors for ID’s, etc. TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED.
